Vertical Farming Smart Grow Systems Evolution 2.0

Smart Grow Systems vertical farming racking solutions cover your grow decks with ultra thin LED grow light frame technology and remote power cubes removes over 50% of the heat out of the canopy. Removing the heat is critical to adding MORE GROW DECKS which produces MORE CANOPY OUTPUT in the same cubic area.

VERTICAL FARMING LED LIGHTING

Revolutionary patent pending, ultra thin, low heat design is perfect for “Sea of Green” vertical farming grow methods.

REMOTE POWER

Vertical FRAMEZ use remote power which removes 50% of the heat and uses much less space at commercial scale compared to non-remote power.

SYSTEM CONTROLS

Proprietary SGS liteDRIVE technology links Vertical FRAMEZ to digital smart controls and remote power servers.

SMART CONTROLS

Manage your grow remotely or onsite. SMART GROW CYCLES provides web or cloud based, as well as onsite touch screen controls to give professional growers precise control and rich data.

MOVABLE VERTICAL GROW RACKING

AISLE SAVER movable racking fits more canopy into a smaller space by minimizing the need for aisles. Move racks back and forth on tracks to access grow decks.

PLANT FOOD

Bio-based ORIGNAL CHO plant food reduces the amount of NPK needed to grow healthy aerobic plants and conditions soil for reuse.

Vertical Farming Grow Questions?

Switching from growing one level of biomass to multiple levels of biomass offers more efficient production at lower overall cost. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions regarding vertical farming cultivation:

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO DESIGN A VERTICAL FARMING LAYOUT?

Room type(s), room dimensions including ceiling height for each room, new or retrofit, voltage, species or cultivar, preferred grow medium, HVAC, electric power company, floor plans, etc.

HOW DO I SELECT MY GROW DECK HEIGHTS FOR VERTICAL FARMING RACKS?

We can answer this question for you. We will need to know several of your plans including, your floor to ceiling height, the species or cultivar you wish to grow, and your preferred growing media.

HOW DO I SELECT MY GROW MEDIUM FOR VERTICAL FARMING?

While we recommend soil for its simplicity and reliability–you can use top or bottom automated feed and watering system–you can use other methods. However, methods like hydroponics that rely upon cumbersome plumbing, can be challenging.

BUILDING VOLTAGE & LOAD REQUIREMENTS?

Smart Grow can help you design your buildings or grow areas. To estimate, check out our load calculator.

UL CERTIFICATION AND POWER COMPANY INCENTIVES OR REBATES?

Smart Grow’s lights and systems are UL certified! This means you may be able to save money by getting rebates from your power company for choosing Smart Grow lights and control systems instead of other options.

PAR MAPS AND SPECTRUM ANALYSIS?

You can view spectrum and PAR maps here.

WHAT IS PAR & HOW IS IT MEASURED?

PAR is photosynthetically active radiation. It is the amount of light within a range of wavelengths that plants can use to create energy and growth through photosynthesis. PAR is measured by the number of photons in the 400-700 nm range received by a surface for a specified amount of time, or the Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD).

WHICH LIGHT SPECTRA ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE FOR GROWING MY PLANTS?

Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), the wavelengths of light required for plants to grow is generally between 400 to 700 nanometers. Smart Grow GOLDENi and BABY BLUE lights are optimized to provide the right wavelengths seed to harvest.

WHAT IS DAILY LIGHT INTEGRAL (DLI) AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Daily light integral (DLI) measures the number of photosynthetically active photons (photons in the PAR range) accumulated in a square meter over the course of a day. Your crop has an optimal DLI for each stage of its growth. Smart Grow lights and control systems enable you to optimize DLI.

WHAT IS VERTICAL CANOPY FACTOR?

Vertical Canopy Factor is a measure of the increased canopy you can achieve within your grow area by using vertical cultivation. It is a measure of the space efficiency and budget growing vertically adds to your operation.

WHAT IS VERTICAL SEA OF GREEN?

Growing with the Sea of Green method on multiple levels of grow decks or shelves is perfect for vertical farming.

WHAT IS BIOMASS?

Biomass is the the total mass of harvestable plant material in your grow area. It is measured in dry weight.

HOW MUCH WATTAGE DOES SEA OF GREEN USE IN A VERTICAL FARM?

This depends upon the design of your grow area. We can help you estimate total wattage based upon the type and number of lights you intend to use.

HOW MANY VERTICAL FRAMEZ IN 4 X 8 GROW AREA?

You can fit 2 to 4 GOLDENi 600 in a flower room grow deck. Most commercial growers are choosing 3 to balance cost and PAR output. We can work with you to customize light and grow deck options based upon your application and budget.

HOW DO I KEEP UP WITH THE CLONES REQUIRED FOR PERPETUAL HARVEST VERTICAL CULTIVATION?

Smart Grow can help you estimate the number of clones required to keep your flowering room grow decks full of canopy. Contact us to discuss the optimal perpetual harvest system for your project.

WHAT IS PERPETUAL HARVEST RATE?

Perpetual harvest rate is a measure of the number of days between harvests. Vertical cultivation enables you to design rooms and grow facilities with optimal perpetual harvest rates. Contact us about your project to select your optimal perpetual harvest rate.

WHAT DOES BIOBASED PLANT FOOD MEAN?

Biobased plant food is plant food made from living or once living organisms. Learn more here.

WHAT IS CHO?

CHO is an abbreviation for Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Smart Grow plant foods are formulated to provide plants oxygenated carbon.

WHAT IS NPK?

NPK is an abbreviation for nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). Nitrogen is generally responsible for the growth of leaves on plants. Phosphorus for root growth and flower and fruit development. Potassium helps with the overall life functions of plants. NPK are considered macro-nutrients. Plants also require micro-nutrients. Smart Grow plant foods are formulated to reduce the amount of NPK required and provide a balance of nutrients.
