Room type(s), room dimensions including ceiling height for each room, new or retrofit, voltage, species or cultivar, preferred grow medium, HVAC, electric power company, floor plans, etc.
HOW DO I SELECT MY GROW DECK HEIGHTS FOR VERTICAL FARMING RACKS?
We can answer this question for you. We will need to know several of your plans including, your floor to ceiling height, the species or cultivar you wish to grow, and your preferred growing media.
HOW DO I SELECT MY GROW MEDIUM FOR VERTICAL FARMING?
While we recommend soil for its simplicity and reliability–you can use top or bottom automated feed and watering system–you can use other methods. However, methods like hydroponics that rely upon cumbersome plumbing, can be challenging.

WHAT IS PAR & HOW IS IT MEASURED?
PAR is photosynthetically active radiation. It is the amount of light within a range of wavelengths that plants can use to create energy and growth through photosynthesis. PAR is measured by the number of photons in the 400-700 nm range received by a surface for a specified amount of time, or the Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD).
WHICH LIGHT SPECTRA ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE FOR GROWING MY PLANTS?
Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), the wavelengths of light required for plants to grow is generally between 400 to 700 nanometers. Smart Grow GOLDENi and BABY BLUE lights are optimized to provide the right wavelengths seed to harvest.
WHAT IS DAILY LIGHT INTEGRAL (DLI) AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Daily light integral (DLI) measures the number of photosynthetically active photons (photons in the PAR range) accumulated in a square meter over the course of a day. Your crop has an optimal DLI for each stage of its growth. Smart Grow lights and control systems enable you to optimize DLI.
WHAT IS VERTICAL CANOPY FACTOR?
Vertical Canopy Factor is a measure of the increased canopy you can achieve within your grow area by using vertical cultivation. It is a measure of the space efficiency and budget growing vertically adds to your operation.

WHAT IS BIOMASS?
Biomass is the the total mass of harvestable plant material in your grow area. It is measured in dry weight.

WHAT IS CHO?
CHO is an abbreviation for Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Smart Grow plant foods are formulated to provide plants oxygenated carbon.
WHAT IS NPK?
NPK is an abbreviation for nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). Nitrogen is generally responsible for the growth of leaves on plants. Phosphorus for root growth and flower and fruit development. Potassium helps with the overall life functions of plants. NPK are considered macro-nutrients. Plants also require micro-nutrients. Smart Grow plant foods are formulated to reduce the amount of NPK required and provide a balance of nutrients.
